Pope Francis has invited the Universal Church to be united with the World Synod of Bishops to be held in Rome from October 03 to October 28, 2018. I will have the joy of participating in it. The theme of the Synod is 'Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment'.
I am happy to note that in keeping with the spirit of the Synod, the Diocesan Youth Centre, Bandra is organising Synodgy 2018 at the Diocesan level on October 07, 2018 and has encouraged all our deaneries and parishes to conduct special programmes for the youth in October. Bishop Barthol Barretto, Bishop in-charge of the Youth Apostolate in our Archdiocese, has already communicated this to the Parish Priests and the Youth Directors of the parishes. A Synod Prayer for young people is also sent to the parishes, which is to be recited in our churches on all Sundays of October 2018, after the Post-Communion prayer.
I earnestly request all our parishes to work towards making the World Synod of Bishops a truly spiritual experience for the youth of our Archdiocese.
