Fr L. Johnson, a priest of the Archdiocese of Bombay, assigned as Priest-in-charge of Christ the King Church, Shivaji Nagar, Govandi is in judicial custody for allegedly having sodomised a 13-year-old boy in Govandi on November 27.
The Cardinal has initiated an impartial inquiry into the conduct of the priest and on the basis of the evidence gathered, if guilty, appropriate action will be taken. Representatives of the Archdiocese have met with the victim and his family and are in the process of ascertaining the facts from them. All assistance is currently being rendered to the victim’s family.
