What a joy to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord - Easter: the feast of light, hope, peace and of love. The story of our Lord's Passion and Death ends not on Good Friday, it becomes complete on Easter Sunday, with the Resurrection. St Paul always speaks of the Passion of our Lord with the Resurrection. In the life of our Lord, the two are inseparable: one gives meaning to the other.
I am confident that each one of us has gone through a process of discernment, purification and reform during Lent. This is what Pope Francis advises us to do all through our life in his Apostolic Exhortation, the Joy of the Gospel. On this Easter Sunday, I send each one of you warm and affectionate greetings. At the Easter Eucharist that I will celebrate at the Holy Name Cathedral, I will pray for all our people, but especially for the sick, the aged, the lonely and those in any pain or affliction. May this great feast help us to experience peace, to discover hope and to find joy, conscious that the Lord loves us.
The Lord is truly Risen! Alleluia! A Happy Easter!
