It is with profound sadness that we have received the news of the demise of Imam Mawlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini on 4 February 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal. His passing is a great loss not only to the Ismaili Muslim community but also to the entire world, as his life was a testament to selfless service, compassion, and dedication to the betterment of humanity.
We at the Archdiocese of Bombay are deeply aware of Imam Mawlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini’s immense contributions to public welfare, particularly in the fields of education and healthcare infrastructure. His visionary efforts in human development have touched the lives of millions, especially those in remote and underserved areas, leaving an indelible mark on the world.
