Fr Joseph Chinnayyan appointed CBCI Spokesperson and PRO

The CBCI Standing Committee has appointed Fr Joseph Chinnayyan, Deputy Secretary General of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) as the Spokesperson and PRO of the CBCI.  The CBCI is the apex body of the Catholic Church in India comprising of the three rites of Latin, Malankara and Syro Malabar, with 166 dioceses. Fr Chinnayyan belongs to the Archdiocese of Trivandrum (L), and holds a doctorate in Canon Law from the Urban University, Rome. He will continue to serve as the Deputy Secretary General of the CBCI and the Director of the CBCI Centre in New Delhi.  The appointment was announced in a communication issued by Archbishop Albert D’Souza, Secretary General of the CBCI, on August 28.
