Cardinal’s concern over the escalating attacks on the Christian community

The president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India, Cardinal Oswald Gracias, today expressed concern over alleged escalating attacks on the Christian community in parts of the country and accused state governments of failing to protect the minority communities
“The attacks on Christians have gone up in parts of the country. The community is being targeted globally and in India we are seeing hate campaigns too,” he told journalists.
The Cardinal also blamed state governments for failing to control communal clashes. “We have seen how some state governments have failed to act on time to stop communal tensions, which is a matter of concern.”
