‘When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord, until you come again,’ is what we all acclaim after the Consecration at Mass. In Holy Communion we receive the Risen Lord. The Eucharist is thus the Sacrament of the Resurrection. The Spirit of the Risen Christ comes to us with every fruitful reception of Holy Communion.
I pray that particularly during this Year of the Eucharist through Holy Communion the Risen Lord becomes more and more present in our lives and in our homes. The Risen Lord brings hope, courage, strength and the assurance of victory with him.
I wish each one of you very warm greetings for Easter Sunday. These greetings go out particularly to the aged, those sick, the lonely and those in distress. The Lord is truly Risen! God loves you, alleluia! Happy Easter.
