Nov. 4, 2016

The Jubilee Year of Mercy will conclude with the closing of the Holy Door at St Peter's Basilica by Pope Francis on November 20, 2016. A week earlier, other Holy Doors of Mercy will be closed all over the world.

At the Holy Name Cathedral, the concluding service of the Jubilee Year of Mercy will be celebrated on November 13, 2016 with a Praise and Worship Service beginning at 5:30 p.m.; the congregation will then move in procession through the Holy Door for the Eucharist and the concluding rites at 6:15 p.m. Priests, religious and lay faithful, especially those from the neighbouring parishes, are cordially invited for this service. At Mount Mary's Basilica, Bandra, the Eucharist and concluding rites will be at 11 a.m.

The previous Friday, November 11, 2016, we will celebrate a 'Day of Mercy' in our Archdiocese. In all our churches, priests will be available for Confession during the day (9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; 4:00 p.m. till the evening Mass).

Though the Year of Mercy will conclude on November 20, 2016, the Church's mission of mercy continues. I do hope the Year of Mercy will have been spiritually benefi cial to each one of us.
