To all Parish Priests / Priest in- Charge / Heads of Institutions (Religious Men and Women)
My dear Fathers / Sisters,
The General Elections are around the corner. As CBCI President I had issued a Pastoral Letter for all our Faithful in the country, a copy of which I am enclosing. It could be read at all public Masses on Saturday, April 5th and Sunday April 6th 2014.
The CBCI decided during its Plenary Assembly to have a day of fasting and penance so that we get a good Government. In the Archdiocese of Bombay we urge all people to observe Friday April 4th 2014, as a day of prayer and penance for this intention.
Parish Priests may take initiatives to make this day meaningful.
With kind regards and best wishes,
Yours sincerely in Christ,
Oswald Cardinal Gracias
Archbishop of Bombay
