The Archdiocesan Youth Centre has adopted an innovative initiative to encourage Youth to be proactive in faith: a Bikers Pilgrimage from the Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount, Bandra to the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Karjat.
The pilgrimage began with a prayer at the Basilica and was flagged off by Bp John Rodrigues. The riders made their way to Sacred Heart Church, Vashi where they recited the first two decades of the Rosary. This was followed by breakfast. They then proceeded to Don Bosco Yuwa Sanstha, Karjat, where they prayed the next two decades of the Rosary and attended a one-hour session on Eco Spirituality by Fr. Xavier, sdb, Director of the Salesian Centre at Karjat. The pilgrims then made their way to Our Lady of Fatima Church, Karjat to pray the fifth decade of the Rosary and the Litany, before the celebration of the Eucharist. Every decade of the Rosary was accompanied by an exegesis and a reflection.
After lunch at Karjat, the pilgrims returned to the Sacred Heart Church, Vashi to complete their pilgrimage with a summing up and the concluding pray
